TL 15SW GREAT BARFORD GREEN END, GREEN END ROAD

8/29 Green End Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17 with C19 alterations. Colour washed brick and some rough cast
over timber frame. Clay tile roof. T-plan, front block of 2 storeys and
attics, rear block of 2 storeys, with various one storey additions to sides
and rear. Front elevation: 3 windows to ground floor, 4 to first floor, all
under rendered flat arches, one gabled dormer, all windows being casements
with C19 glazing bars. C20, front door under sloping hood. 3 sloping
buttresses to ground floor, brick string course, corbelled brick cornice,
brick copings to both gable ends. W elevation has small projecting gable with
similar coping and recessed geometrical shapes as decoration, triple octagonal
ridge stacks in red brick, canted bay, and various sashes, some similar to
front elevation.
