Description

GREATHAM FRONT STREET
NZ 4927
(west side)
12/12 No. 2

G.V. II

Terraced house, early C19, with mid C19 extension. Brick; late C20
interlocking pantiles. 2 storeys, 2 windows. Timber pilaster-and-
entablature doorway surround to right with 6-panelled door under overlight.
Late C19 sashes have stucco flat arches and painted stone sills, occupying
much reduced openings. Hipped roof with ridge stack. The return to Front
Street is of 2 bays with matching windows in matching openings. 2-storey
pent extension adjoins west side. The size of the original window openings
suggests the possibility of an original industrial use, probably related to
weaving. Included for group value.
