SX 26 SE MENHENIOTE

11/66 Bodway Farmhouse

Farmhouse, circa 1840s extended to rear in late C19. Stuccoed rubblestone with
moulded granite cills to windows on front. Slate hung left hand side wall. Asbestos
slate roof with hipped ends. Rendered axial stack. Double depth plan arranged
around top-lit central staircase. 2 storeys, symmetrical, 3 window front. Two 16-
pane sashes without horns flanking central 4 panelled door with panelled reveals.
Tuscan porch. Three 16-pane sashes above, left with horns. Left hand side wall, 3
window front with 16 pane sashes without horns. Sashes have crown glass.
Interior intact with mid C19 marble chimney pieces with fluted consoles. Doorcases
with reeded architraves, stopped at corners with squares containing roundels. 4
panelled doors throughout. Almost complete C19 moulded plasterwork cornices. Curved
open string staircase with square balusters and mahogany rail wreathed and ramped at
corners. Domed top light above.
