II

Farmhouse, circa C17. Stone rubble walls, plastered on first floor of east front.
Corrugated iron roof with gable end on west and hipped gables ends on north and
south. Stone chimney stack on west with other stacks of brick. L-shaped plan. 2-
storeys. South front asymmetrical. Ground floor with two 3-light casement windows
with glazing bars, 6 panes per light. Slate hoods. First floor 2 timber sash
windows, 3 panes per sash. Blocked opening on right and evidence of earlier gabled
roof line of adjoining building. South front possibly once continued to the west
and east with evidence indicated by existing lower walls. On the west gable end,
large projecting stone chimney stack with off-sets. Lateral brick stack on front to
left of right hand hipped gable end. Brick stack on south slope of roof. East
front, remodelled in later C19 to form symmetrical facade. (Evidence given by early
C19 watercolour). 3-window front. 2 wide sash windows, 4 panes per light, on
ground and first floor flanking C20 partly glazed door. 6-pane sash window above
door. Interior, partly remodelled with C18 joinery and moulded cornices on ground
floor. First floor not inspected.
