Small house. C17, remodelled in the C18 and C19. Painted rubble with some dressed
granite. Scantle slate roof sweeping lower over most of rear. Stone rubble chimney
over left hand gable end and brick chimney over right hand gable end.
Plan: large room left and shallower room on the right, both with large gable end
fireplaces. Stair projection towards left and shallow service room right are under
an integral shallow outshut. Present entrance leads into the left hand room and a
fairly thick stone wall surrounds the right hand room dividing it from the left hand
room: and the rear service room. The right hand gable end is a probably C18 rebuild
and part of the front wall is a C19 rebuild.
2 storeys. Roughly symmetrical 3 window roughly south front. The openings are all
grouped towards the left and the doorway and window over are left of middle.
Small square window openings with 4-pane horned sashes except for C20 window in
deepened opening at ground floor right. C20 divided ledged door. Over the ground
floor left hand opening is a C17 straight chamfered window head of a 2-light granite
mullioned window.
Interior has C19 floors, stair and roof structure.
Set in open farmland adjoining unbroken moorland of Crowan Beacon.
