Branksea House)

II

Detached house. Early C19. Rendered, slate roof. A symmetrical
2-storey 3-windowed villa with a central flat-roofed 4-pane
sash dormer above 4-pane sashes in flush boxes; these may
formerly have contained 16-pane sashes. The narrow panelled
door with transom has a fanlight. There are brick stacks to
each gable end. To the left is a glazed lean-to conservatory
below the asbestos-slate-hung gable, with a 4-pane sash. The
right gable has stone slatehanging, with a later C19 brick
extension. The brick dentil course referred to in RCHME no
longer survives.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The villa probably had a generous surrounding plot when first
built, but is now enclosed by later development to Horsford
Street, and to the rear.
