adjoining stable,
byres and barn

Farmhouse with stables and adjoining byres and barn. Dated and inscribed over
entrance W.W. E.W. 1669 (Williamson), with C19 alterations. Rendered mixed
rubble under graduated greenslate roof with stone chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 2
bays with 2-bay stable to right under common roof; lower right-angled barn to
left and byre to right, forming overall U-shape. 4-panel door in chamfered
surround under shaped inscribed lintel with hood mould. Sash windows with
glazing bars in C19 stone surrounds replacing blocked 2-light stone-mullioned
windows. Stable has doorway and C20 casement window with loft doorway above and
C17 window with stone mullions removed. Byre has doorway and loft door above.
Barn to left includes part of the original house. Projecting cart entrance
reached by ramp with ground-floor doorways to left and upper-floor C17 windows
with stone mullions removed. Lean-to dairy to left has open bellcote. Outshuts
to rear of house have C17 windows with mullions removed. Interior of house has
segmental stone-arched inglenook and beamed ground-floor ceilings. Further barn
extensions are not of interest. Derelict and unoccupied at time of survey.
