and barns

II

Farmhouse and adjoining barns. Mid or late C18 with reused dated and inscribed
lintel R.M. I.M. 1663, which probably came from the earlier house on this site.
Painted incised stucco over brick. Graduated greenslate roof with brick chimney
stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays with lower L-shaped brick barns, under C20 tile roof,
to right. Top-glazed panelled door in pilastered surround under pediment.
Double sash windows with glazing bars on ground floor, sash windows with glazing
bars above, all in painted stone surrounds. Similar window to right over
chamfered-surround Tudor doorway dated under hood mould. Ground floor windows
have internal panelled shutters. Barns have blocked entrances, slit vents and
lofts. Side has large cart entrance and half-plank doors, slit vents and small
upper windows to right. Walls continue in sandstone to right under common
roof. Further single-storey barn under sandstone slate roof.
