House and cafe; originally two houses. Late C18 - early C19, with C20 alterations.
Rendered stone rubble; partly slate-hung with asbestos slates. Concrete tiled roof
with gable end to left, hipped to right. Front lateral stack with rendered shaft.
Plan: A pair of attached one-room plan houses, each originally with a front door
facing Church Street; one doorway to right is now blocked. The house to right is
built over a fish cellar with entrance to the cellar originally at the right end.
Exterior: 2 storeys, an asymmetrical 3 window front. First floor has three C19 12-
pane sashes, irregularly spaced. At ground floor to left a C20 door with C19 12-pane
sash to right of the door; the second doorway is blocked, with a similar sash to the
right. The left end abuts the adjoining house. At the right end there is a doorway
to the cellar and C20 3-light window at ground floor. The rear is asbestos slate-
hung, with C20 window and door at ground floor, C20 window and C19 8-pane sash at
first floor.
