High Stennerskeugh Farmhouse & adjoining byre

Farmhouse and byre. Mid C18 with later additions and alterations. Coursed
squared rubble with quoins. Graduated slate roof. 2 storeys. House
symmetrical, 3 bays: Central panelled door under gabled slate canopy; sash to
either side and 3 above, all with wide glazing bars. Single-bay byre to right
under same roof: Ramp up to loft entrance in south return; byre entrance to
rear. Stone copings and kneelers; stone end chimneys to house. House interior
contains very fine C18 floor-standing 2-stage oak corner cupboard in front room
north: Small door in base and main door, with shaped top, both have small
fielded panels; ornate cornice with scrolled pediment. Outbuildings adjoining
north return not of interest.
