NY 44 SE HESKET PETTERIL GREEN

rear stables

Farmhouse and stables. Early C19. Incised cement render over dressed grey
sandstone with eaves cornice and parapet, and V-jointed quoins, on squared
plinth. Hipped graduated greenslate roof with grey sandstone ashlar chimney
stacks. 2 storeys, 5 bays with flanking single-bay wings and rear right-angled
stable. Panelled door and overlight within prostyle Ionic porch. Sash windows
with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds, that over entrance a larger French
window opening onto porch roof. Wings have sash windows, those on ground-floor
tripartite. Right wing extends to rear to form stable with segmental arched
cart entrance under sash windows.
