Farmhouse and barn. Early or mid C18 with addition dated and inscribed over
entrance JOHN HODGSON 1774 and C19 alterations. Painted stucco walls, under
graduated greenslate roof with banded pink sandstone ashlar chimney stacks.
2 storeys, 3 bays with lower right 2-storey, 2-bay barn and rear extensions.
Central 3-light flat stone-mullioned windows flanked by sash windows in painted
stone surrounds. Barn has C20 cross-passage door in painted chamfered
surround. Upper-floor sash windows in plain reveals. Rear extension has plank
door in painted stone surround with dated lintel. 2-light chamfered
stone-mullioned window. Rear of barn has blocked cross-passage doorway, 2-light
stone-mullioned window and further left plank door in painted stone surround.
Low extension to barn and barns left of house are not of interest.
