Faggots End (formerly listed
30-11-66 as the Old Rectory, High Street)

Former rectory, now 2 houses. C17 with C19 alterations and
additions. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar dressings, hipped
pantile roof, 2 brick ridge stacks. 2 storey with attics, 5 bay
front to garden with projecting semi-circular bow to left;
arranged 1:3:1 with centre 3 bays slightly advanced. Central
glazed doors with plain overlights are flanked by pairs of plain
sashes. To first floor are 5 plain sashes, the central 3 of
which are lower than the sides of the original house. To left of
the front, a bowed bay runs to full height with glazed double
doors flanked by plain sashes, to first floor are a central sash
flanked by single blank openings. To roof are 2 dormers with
glazing bar sashes, lend flat roofs and cheeks. All openings
have flat ashlar lintels, the 3 upper windows with keystones,
those to either side are to eaves. To the right of the front is
a lower 2 storey red brick service block with pantile roof.
Front of 3 irregular bays and 2 storeys with glazing bar sashes
to both floors.
