15/57 Park Cottages

G.V. II

Originally 3 houses, now single house. Mid C17, refronted C18,
early C19, altered C20. Red brick, largely in Flemish bond.
Pantile roof with stone coped gables and kneelers. 2 brick gable
and single ridge stacks. 2 storey plus attics, irregular 5 bay
front having first floor band to right hand 4 bays. Off-centre 6
panelled door with overlight, having wrought iron tracery, in
plain pilastered doorcase with short lead hood, with to left a
single and to right 3 wide glazing bar sashes, all with segmental
heads. To first floor 4 glazing bar sashes to eaves. There is
evidence in the facade of earlier blocked openings. The left hand
side retains the C17 chamfered plinth, crudely rusticated brick
quoins and band, above which is the lower part of a blocked C17
central window. This brickwork is in English bond.
