L-shaped section of Garden Wall to
East of Butts House

GV II

Garden wall. C18-early C19. Deeply-coursed sandstone with
ashlar copings. L-shaped section of wall forming north and
east boundary of garden to east of Butts House (qv). Tallest
section on north side of garden has an infilled C18 doorway
under flat arch with voussoirs. Wall curves to return south
and sweeps down at a blocked round-arched doorway with imposts
to ashlar surround; wall extends for approximately 50m to
south.
Forms part of the enclosing boundary wall to Butts House.
