Milestone. Late C19. Ashlar with cast-iron plaque. Triangular on plan
with semi-circular head, approximately one metre high. Raised inscription
painted black against white background: 'TADCASTER & DONCASTER / ROAD /
SAXTON / CUM / SCARTHINGWELL' around head, 'DONCASTER / 23 MILES /
PONTEFRACT / 10 3/4 MILES / FERRYBRIDGE / 8 MILES' to north facade, 'YORK / 13 3/4 MILES / TADCASTER / 4 1/4 MILES' to south side.
