Manor house. Late C18 with earlier origins, and later alteration. Dressed
sandstone, on sandstone rubble plinth; pantile roof; rebuilt brick stacks.
Central stairhall plan, 12 rooms deep, with outshut. 2-storey, symmetrical
5-window front. Central 4-panel door with divided overlight. Two 16-pane
sashes to each side, in quoined surrounds. 12-pane sashes to first floor.
Stone sills to all windows. Heavy, plain lintels to all ground floor
openings. Cavetto moulded eaves cornice. Coped gables. End stacks. Rear:
1½-storey continuous outshut with catslide roof, gabled to centre.
Interior: not inspected. There are said to be mullion windows contained
within the rear roofspace; and exposed beams to ground floor front rooms.
