Gates, gate piers, flanking railings and attached pedestrian gate to lodge.
C19. For Lord Ripon of Studley Park. Cast iron. A very robust set of
gates, overall length approximately 8 metres, composed of central double
gates with square-section bars and pyramidal finials, relieved only by
central scroll handles to the lower bolts, and lock rails, attached to
cylindrical piers approximately 2 metres high, with moulded base and cornice
and a shallow cone-shaped cap. Flanking railings and outer pair of piers in
the same style, and a low pedestrian gate set at right-angles to the left
pier, giving access to the Lodge (qv). Traces of red, gold and black paint
remain.
