6/9 Garden Cottage to
the South West of
Birkby Manor

Cottage and attached privy, former outbuilding. Late C18 and Cl9
Red brick with pantile roofs and' a single gable stack, ashler
coped gables. North front has central round arch, now bricked
in with an off-centre C19 4 panel door, to the left a large
garage doorway with double plank doors, to the right a glazing
bar sash. Gabled west front has 2 light glazing bar sliding sash
to right and above 2 narrow plain sashes. Rear wing contains priveys or
earth closets one approached from the eats ( garden ) front, and the other
from the west ( cottage ) front. Included for group value only.
