Whitwell House

House. Mid C18 with later section to right. Pale reddish-brown local brick.
1st floor band and dentilled eaves. Swept pantile roof with end and centre chimneys,
the latter being the end chimney of the C18 house before the later additions.
2 storeys, 2 bays with 2 bay addition. Former end baffle entry is now blocked but has
a 6-panel door in modern pedimented doorcase. Present entrance to rear. Modern
casement windows and garage door to right. Interior: beamed ceilings. Chamfered
inglenook beam. Roof of coupled rafters with single level of purlins and curved
tie/collar beams. Pitch to south side renewed.
