Dovecote. Probably c1800, raised late Cl9-early C20 to contain a water tank.
Coursed, squared magnesian limestone rubble raised in brick; pantile roof. 3
storeys, octagonal. Ground floor has 3 door openings and 3 windows all
having cambered-arched heads; 2 sides of the octagon are blind. 1st floor
has door to pigeon loft in sandstone surround and one window with deep ledge.
2nd floor has some window openings with projecting sills and plain lintels.
Hipped roof.
Interior: 3 ground-floor compartments occupied by pigsties; on 1st floor are
approximately 1000 nesting holes constructed of clay tiles and lath and
plaster.
