GV II
Smithy. Probably early cl9, Coursed rubble limestone, stone slate eaves courses
to pantile roofs. 2 storeys, 2 windows to 1st floor; single-storey addition set
back to left has 2 large doorways and window. Main workshop probably occupying
former house has old central door with deep lintel flanked by horizontally-sliding
sashes with glazing bars, projecting sills and deep lintels. 2 similar lst-floor
windows. Kneelers and ashlar gable copings. C20 end stack to right; old brick,
external stack to left. Addition set back to left has 2 boarded garage doors and
window to right with projecting sill and boarded shutter. Hipped roof to left.
Interior: 2-storey part open to roof with forge against right gable and full
complement of workshop fittings including some early c19 wall cupboards.
