3/147 Blacksmith's Cottage

GV II


Detached cottage. Later C19. Rubble-stone walls and dressed stone quoins, with
stone string over ground floor windows. Clay-tile roof with gable ends and gablet
at left hand. Brick stack at centre ridge, with tripled polygonal and square stacks
on a stone plinth, l½ storeys. 2 windows, 2-light cast-iron casements with lozenge
lights. Central stone mullions. Relieving arches. Stone doorway at centre with
depressed-arch head and relieving-arch over. Plank-and-muntin door with 2 strap-
hinges, C19. C20 rear wing in brick is not listable.
