Road over river bridge (River Thurne). C14, altered C15 and late C18. Ashlar
with gault brick parapet. 3 arches. Central semi-circular arch is C15 with
triangular C14 arches either side, the latter with 4 chamfered ribs each.
Pointed cutwaters between arches below canted pilaster buttresses. Beyond
triangular arches are heavy buttresses on roll and wave moulded corbelling
added in C15. Late C18 gault brick parapet supported on 2 sloping buttresses
each side. Each side of bridge identical. Scheduled Ancient Monument, County
number 154.
