9/18 Joseph Hepple headstone
c.5m east of church
Headstone, 1754. Sandstone ashlar. Shouldered segmental-arched top with moulded
coping; cherub above inscription to Joseph Hepple and Jane Thornton (1786).
Reverse: shaped sunk panel with death's head above crossbones, on vermiculate
field. Good quality vernacular masoncraft, very well preserved.
