3/7 The Old Brewhouse
GV II

Brewhouse to the former Langton House (demolished 1949), now a private dwelling,
c.1830 by C R Cockrell. Finely jointed ashlar with slate roofs and ashlar stacks.
2 storeys. Central round archway, now enclosed and with an inserted C20 floor.
South-west front has an arcaded, 3 bay loggia with round-headed archways.
Assorted fenestration. Roof surmounted by a turret with cupola. Somewhat
altered but forms an important group with Langton House (qv) and The Old Stables
(qv) also by C R Cockrell. (RCHM, Dorset, vol.IV, p.44, no.4.)
