9/29 Esp Hill Farmhouse

II

House, dated 1824 on front door lintel. Squared stone, tooled and margined
quoins and dressings; slate roof, stepped ashlar stack on right gable, left gable
stack rebuilt in brick. 2 storeys, windows. Central 8-panelled door with oblong
fanlight and alternating jambs. All windows 16-pane sashes with alternating jambs
and slightly projecting sills. Single-storey 1-bay wing, with hipped roof and
blind window, set back to right, 2-storey wing set back to left has coped gable
and stepped stone stack, modern glazed porch and 16-pane sash with slightly
projecting sill above. Rear elevation,central door under C20 porch flanked by
16-pane sashes, 1st floor round-headed stair window with radial glazing bars
flanked by 16-pane sashes, all windows with alternating jambs and slightly
projecting sills. Wing to right slightly set back, ground floor casement and
blocked door, 1st floor late Cl9 8-pane sash, C20 porch to right.
