Lodge gatehouse. Mid C19, for Lord Sudeley. Flemish bond
brickwork, stone dressings, Welsh slate roof. Two-window, 2-storey
wings each side of higher cross range, arch with room over. Viewed
from side away from Toddington Manor: windows mullioned with
trefoil heads to lights, diamond leaded lights, hoodmoulds. On
left, rectangular bay, window with hoodmould, hipped roof: 4-light
window to right. Above, 3-light mullion and transom window rising
into brick dormer, hoodmould;parapet gable: 3-light window to
right. Parapet gable left end, ridge chimney; further chimney
from mid slope to right of dormer: moulded cap. To right slight
projection, wide archway with 4-centred arch, moulded string
course, 3-light window over, with plain shield in moulded, square
surround above: parapet gable, bellcote on apex with trefoil head
in gable. To right, rectangular projection, single-light window:
roof hipped back to tall octagonal turret on right corner of centre
block, lancet at bottom; moulded stone eaves, swept stone pyramid
roof with leaf finial. To right, set back, 3-light window on each
floor, wall carried up into gable with lancet, finials from base
and apex of parapet gable. Parapet gable on right end, gable
chimney.
