Hadrian's wall; milecastle 42; turrets 41A and 41B. AD 122, reconstructed
AD 205. Rubble core with dressed stone faces. Course of wall runs west from
near Caw Gap (NY 726668) to Cawfields (NY 712665). Several stretches of
c.l.5-metre high wall masonry. Remains of milecastle. Sites only of turrets.
Scheduled Ancient Monument.
