Circa 1592. Large brick house with rendered moulded brick dressings. Tiled
roofs. Two storeys and attics. E-shaped on plan, 1:2:1:2:1 bays. End
gabled wings and central 3 storey porch with stepped gables and octagonal
corner shafts with moulded brick finials. Three and 5-light rendered mullion/transom
windows with moulded pediments. Round arched doorway also with pediment.
Moulded string course. At rear 2 gables and 2 large external brick chimney
stacks on rear wall, each with 2 octagonal shafts with moulded bases. Late
Cl8 wing at rear on south-east corner. Late Cl9, 2 storey wings added to
east and west ends in matching style. Interior: much altered in late Cl9,
but contains fragments of Cl6/17 panelling, much altered staircase at south-west,
and early Cl8 carved wood chimney-piece in first floor west room. Long gallery
on first floor.
