GV II

House. Mid - late C18 with C19 and C20 alterations. Squared limestone rubble,
sandstone dressings, stone slate roof. Front c1830 with C18 origins: 2 storeys,
double fronted. Central gabled porch has plain entrance surround, plank door.
2 windows per storey have 2 lights, flat faced mullions, sashes. Central stack
to hipped roof. Left-hand return contains mid - late C18 rear wing, 2 storeys,
2 bays. Plain surround to entrance, two 3-light recessed flat faced mullioned
windows per storey. Interior: cellar contains limewashed stone pillar supporting
ceiling. Late C18 kitchen fireplace on ground floor, with disturbance above
possibly indicating C17 timber firehood, now removed. Late C18 rebuild of chimney
breast, and C19 ceiling to upper floor room has destroyed other evidence.
