Sitwell Lane Cottages

Pair of cottages. C17 with alterations in C18. Coursed sandstone with sandstone
dressings. Plain tile roof with brick gable end stack and brick ridge stack.
Two storeys. North elevation of four bays with, from left to right, a 2-light
square section flush mullion window with a 2-light chamfered mullion window above.
A blocked single light fire window with cavetto moulding and a 2-light recessed
chamfer mullion window with square section mullion and similar window above with
chamfered mullion. C20 door. Single light window with flush stone surround and
single light window above, with stone sill and lintel. 2-light square section
mullion window with similar 2-light window above. The cottage in the east half
has a cruck truss and an elaborately moulded bressumer and heck post.
