Adjoining the Old George., Probably C17 house, refronted in brick in C18. Plastered
front. Steep pitched early tiled roof, brick chimney stacks. Square headed carriageway
to left to the Old George Yard with Jettied 1st floor cot.+er over. Moulded wooden
eaves cornice. 3 sash windows to 1st floor - 2 south of centre having wide wooden
cases, the other one later. Mid C19 shop front with recessed central entrance,
the whole flanked by fluted pilasters and fascia brackets. Extensive 2 storey
ranges at rear.

Nos 23 to 49 (odd) High Street including No 25A form a group of which Nos 29 to
37 (odd) are of local interest only.
