House. C17, extended, renovated and encased in 1979-80. Timber-frame,
encased in brick, rendered above plinth. Thatched roof. L-shaped on plan,
with entrance to rear angle: 3-room front range has 3 main bays of timber
frame with intermediate wall posts; C20 wing to rear right. Single storey
with attic, 3 windows to front. Brick plinth, 2-light sliding sashes with
glazing bars small single-light casement to right. 3 gabled dormers with
casements. All windows C20 replacements. Half-hipped roof with decorative
ridge capping. Axial stacks to left and right of centre. Interior.
Exposed oak framing includes main and intermediate wall posts with braces
from main posts to tie beams and wall plates; first floor supported on
chamfered spine beams and side rails pegged and housed in wall posts.
