Gates, gate-piers, flanking walls and railings. Between 1820 and 1830,
probably by Sir Robert Smirke for Sir Robert Sheffield. Wrought iron gates
and railings, ashlar piers and coping to coursed ironstone rubble dwarf walls.
Semi-circular on plan with central entrance. Ornamental, partly gilded gates
hung on square piers with chamfered plinths, cornice bands and ball finials on
stepped bases. Flanking walls with chamfered coping and railings with
decorative panels and posts terminate in piers similar to those of the gate.
Forms main gateway to Normanby Park, facing Normanby village.
