8/312 Barn, north of Tuckingmill
- Farmhouse

GV II

Bank barn over stable or shippon. Circa early-mid C19. Painted rubble with some
dressed granite, slate sills. Slurried scantle slate roof with gable ends.
Rectangular plan with doorway to the middle of the front, built into the bank at
the rear and on the right-hand side. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2 window front facing
roughly east. central ground floor doorway and slightly narrower loading doorway
over. Ledged doors. The square window openings have original 2 light shuttered
windows to first floor, later glazed to original frame at ground floor left and at
ground floor right replaced with a circa late C18 or early C19 12-pane horizonal-
sliding sash probably reused from the house circa 1937.
Interior not inspected.
Almost adjoining Tuckingmill Farmhouse qv. and relating to it both visually and
functionally.
