Mining Exchange, now day-centre. c.1880, altered. Granite, killas rubble,
and red brick, with limestone dressings. Plan apparently rectangular at
right-angles to street, but probably altered. Small single-storey
symmetrical 3-bay facade in eclectic style; in the centre, a large round-
headed doorway with ashlar architrave including set-in colonettes with
carved foliated capitals, foliated panels in the soffit, and raised
keystone; dentilled cornice, entablature inscribed "MINING EXCHANGE", and
segmental pediment with carved shield lettered "ONE AND ALL", and a ball
finial. The narrower outer bays are of red brick, and each has a large
round-headed window with raised keystone, a moulded cornice, and blind
balustraded parapet. Interior not inspected.
