Description

SX 39 SW LUFFINCOTT LUFFINCOTT

4/26 Range of Farmbuildings about 30m
- north east of Luffincott Barton

GV II

Threshing barn and adjoining farm building with loft over. Circa 1850 and probably
contemporary with Luffincott Barton (qv) built for the Tetcott Estate. Stone rubble
with slate roof gabled at ends. L-plan range with a threshing barn facing north with opposed entrances and a 2-story range at right angles to the barn.
1= and 2-storeys, the threshing barn has a full height doorway on the north side with
sloping slate roof carried on granite corbals on stone cheeks. The gable end of the
2-storey block has a doorway to the left, a window to the right and a loft entrance
above.
A good example of an estate farmbuilding and forming an attractive group with
Luffincott Barton and Luffincott Church (qv).
