Early C19 refacing of earlier house. Cement rendering, steep hipped Welsh slate
roof. Two storeys, 5 wood mullion and transom leaded casements. Six panel
flush door, narrow flush panelled surround, bracketed hood. Visited frequently
by George III as friend of owner Edmund Grove.
Interior had evidence of earlier timber framing. Fragments of C17 wall painting
in ground floor cupboard. Carved C18 chimneypiece in rear room came from Penn
House (qv) in C19.
