House and stable/carriage-house adjoining to right, now part of house.
Early C19 house, later C19 stable/carriage-house; C20 alterations. Red
brick front to house in Flemish bond, with yellow brick to sides and rear;
stable/carriage-house in red brick. Concrete tile roof. House has 2-room
central entrance-hall plan with cellar and pantry behind stairs; addition
has carriage-house flanked by single stables and a single room adjoining
house to left. House stands gable end to street: 2 storeys, 3 bays;
symmetrical. Doorcase with reeded pilasters and moulded consoles on tapered
corbels carrying ribbed frieze, cornice and hood. 6-fielded-and-beaded
panel door beneath reeded cornice and fanlight with carved foliate centre-
piece in panelled reveal. 16-pane sashes in flush wooden architraves with
sills and cambered wedge lintels with incised panels. Moulded wooden eaves
cornice. Rebuilt end stacks. Stable/carriage-house: 2 storeys,
4 first-floor openings. Segmental-arched carriage entrance with pair of
board doors, flanked by board door to right beneath round arch, and C20
inserted door to left beneath similar blocked arch; blocked segmental-headed
door and inserted C20 casement to left. First floor: board door above
carriage entrance flanked by blocked openings, C20 inserted casement to
left. Interior: house contains open well staircase with ramped moulded
handrail, slender column balusters and newel-post; chimney-piece to first
floor left with moulded cornice and raised panels to frieze; 6-fielded-and-
beaded panelled doors in architraves; fitted panelled cupboards to pantry.
