4 houses. Rose Cottage deeds said to date from 1687,
datestone in No.1 Rose Cottage - 1692 but mostly dating from
mid to late C18. Hammer-dressed stone with graduated stone
slate roof. Essentially 2 ranges of building built at
various times, of single and double-depths and with 2
storeys. Rose Cottage and No.1 (formerly one house) have a
central door. The 4-light double-chamfered window to right
and surrounding stonework is a remnant of C17 date along
with a similar window to rear whereas the left 4-light
window and 13-light workshop window with recessed flat-faced
stone mullions are of a later rebuilding. Gable stacks and
lean-to to rear. Hill View Cottage fills in the external
angle between the 2 ranges and has a 4-light double-
chamfered mullion window on each floor, quoins, C20 porch
and a pebble-dashed gable. In the north range another part
of Rose Cottage (formerly a separate house) has a blocked
doorway, quoins and two 2-light windows. Old Well Cottage
(mid C18) has 5 and 4-light recessed cavetto-moulded
chamfered stone mullion windows and a gable entrance.
