House. C15 and C17. Renovated and extended. Timber frame, rendered and
tiled roofs. The roof over the hall range has been raised. Late C17-early
C18 ridge stack of narrow red and gault brick. Hall and crosswing plan. Two
storeys. Three late C20 windows to each storey. Crosswing also has a modern
window to each storey. Inside: hall range at first floor has evidence of
roof raise. Crosswing is of two bays and of late C15. Exposed framing at
both floors. Close-set studs and heavy ceiling joists, laid flat. Arch
bracing to cambered tie beams. Clasped side purlin roof with paired and
curved wind bracing. End to road has the sites for diamond mullion windows.
