semi-circular head. Approximately 1.25 metres high. Raised inscription
painted black against white background: 'TADCASTER & DONCASTER / ROAD /
HUDDLESTON / CUM / LUMBY' (around head); 'DONCASTER / 19 MILES /
PONTEFRACT / 6¾ MILES / FERRYBRIDGE / 4 MILES' (on north side); 'YORK / 17¾
MILES / TADCASTER / 8¼ MILES' (on south side).
