Public house. C16 with C17 alterations and extensions. Timber framed and
plastered with red plain tile hipped and gabled roof. 2 storeys. 4 window
range C18 vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars. Ground floor sashes have
sidelights. 1 canted C19 bay window. C20 pargetting. Main range jettied at
east end. C16 red brick chimney stack, partly rebuilt, one with diagonal
shafts. Gabled wings at rear and C17 black weatherboarded wing at east end,
with red plain tile hipped roof. Internally are stop chamfered beams, mortices
for diamond mullion windows, and C16 inglenook. Bar room at east end has late
C18 or early C19 matchboarding and general detailing. (RCHM 11).
