Retaining walls and bridge for moat. Mid C16 with later repairs. Brick and flint construction with flat stepped buttresses at intervals, those to west side with tumbling. Bridge in south side with flat buttressed walls and low arch against wall. Brick coping tiles to parapet. West side extensively repaired in C20. Gate piers of square section with moulded cornice and ball finials. To west of bridge is room in thickness of wall entered by round arched doorway.
