5/284 Gate-piers and gates at the
- entrance to the drive to North
Kenwood

GV II

Gate-piers and gates, originally associated with Oxton House (q.v.) and matching the
White Bridge (q.v.). Circa 1830. Piers cast iron and presumably by J Vickary of
Exeter, whose stamp appears on the identical piers of the White Bridge; iron gates.
Greek Revival. The piers are cast iron Doric fluted columns crowned with vase
finials. Iron gates, the verticals bent over into an overlapping design above the
top rail. The gate-piers and gates were derelict and have been re-erected by the
owners of North Kenwood.
