Cottage. C17 with mid-C19 alterations and additions. Timber-framed with
painted brick infill on sandstone rubble and brick plinth, brick replace-
ment walling and refacing, plain tiled roof, external brick chimney at north-
east gable end with detached stack. Two framed bays; single storey and attic
Framing: three square panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight brace in
lower corner at front, collar-and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts in gable
ends. Front elevation: ground floor has two 2-light casements and a ledged
and battened door. Attic lights in gable ends. Interior: roof has an inter-
mediate collar-and-tie-beam truss with queen struts, a single row of
trenched purlins. Lean-to addition at left gable end. The well lies about
six yards in front of the main entrance.
