Rock Head Cottage

GV II
Cottage, probably late C18. coursed sandstone of different toolings. Pantiled
roof with stone ridge, copings and kneelers; rebuilt brick stacks. 2 storeys,
3 narrow bays. At right a projecting lean-to porch with small front window and
boarded door in left return. At left a later C19 1-bar casement. First floor
centre modern 3-light small-paned casement. At left a 4-pane fixed light with
single opening pane. At right (in what may have been a five-window opening) a small
modern casement. End chimneys. Block kneelers. A further, lower pent extension
beyond the porch. Left return blank. Rear elevation shows a blocked door, with
small window inserted, at left. At right and on first floor 3-light small-paned
modern casements in original openings with wedge lintels and raised keystones (that
on ground floor triple) and stone cills.
