Farmhouse, now retirement home. Mid-late C18. Flemish bond brick, pantiled roofs
to coped verges and gable stacks. Symmetrical central block with cornice band,
parapet and coping; flanked by lower wings each side. Centre block of 2-storeys
and attic; 3 bays, 12-pane sash windows to first floor, 4:12:4-pane triple-light
sash windows to ground floor, brick voussoirs with stone keys and cills. Central
door opening, 6-panelled door, top 4 panels glazed, fluted pilasters, flat hood
with moulded edge on consoles. In each gable a 2-light casement lighting attic
space. Wing to left of single storey and attic, a 2 and a 3-light casement; wing
to right of 2 storeys, 3-light leaded casement over a casement and a 3-light
sash window. Rendered wing at right-angles to rear, roof swept down to north,
single storey and attic, casements and sash windows. Interior with coeval
features including staircase, doors and window shutters. An elegant building
set back from a busy main road.
