Statue of Euricles and the tortoise and pedestal. c1730 for John Aislabie,
restored c1970. Lead figure, ashlar pedestal. Overall height approximately
3 metres. The figure rests one foot on a rock which the tortoise attempts
to climb; the plinth has a moulded base and cornice. The statue is part of
the original garden furnishings which included thermes and tubs containing
